The communication of non-communication; building a reputation of trust and respect

This month has been special. For a month dedicated to sharing about unconditional love, it has truly been a trying one for me. I am of the opinion that the five love languages are not exhaustive and I personally believe that every person appreciates each of the five love languages to a certain extent- IContinue reading “The communication of non-communication; building a reputation of trust and respect”

A love allegory (An exposition)

A couple of months ago, I engaged friends on social media in a discussion about love and this is  a compilation of our conversation! Feel free to share your thoughts on this as well. ALLEGORY: “Like a bird freed from chains, when do you fly? The problem has never been love or the question ofContinue reading “A love allegory (An exposition)”

Love personified

Now I stay in love. Is love a place then?  Is it already morphed or is it continually metamorphosing? If love depended on gravity, would a fall mean stagnation or a state where one continually chooses to be low for the benefit of a SHARED Love? We’ve often treated love as an verb. The conceptContinue reading “Love personified”

Love Whispered(A poem)

Love whispered; I made it to you. I finally made it home, to your heart; the gateway to your life’s course. I found the key that you had tossed at the bottom of the ocean and I navigated my way right back to you. I made my way to you, yet you shut me IN.Continue reading “Love Whispered(A poem)”

HOME; WHEREVER I AM (A POEM)

Inspired by a recent dialogue with a friend Clearly, if I walked on by and I could recognize it, I might call it home. If my lips could part to allow the air through my larynx an escape, without my brain processing its phonetics, it certainly would feel like home. If the thought of itContinue reading “HOME; WHEREVER I AM (A POEM)”

Confidently SELF-AWARE or Confidently PROUD?

I must warn my readers that I find sarcasm amusing- hence, the appropriateness of this quote. Don’t you find it quite ironic that as isolation and depression has increased in recent times, there’s seemingly a greater desire for pets like dogs. Of course, association is not causation and, like the ‘chicken or egg paradox’ weContinue reading “Confidently SELF-AWARE or Confidently PROUD?”

CONFIDENCE looks good on YOU; A personal ‘case study’ and analogy

Growing up, at every stage of my life, my height stood out; literally! It started from my hospital crib, where my ‘length’ was the adjective used to describe me to my dad. Although, I must admit, being exposed to more people makes me realize that the average Ghanaian isn’t as tall, compared to other partsContinue reading “CONFIDENCE looks good on YOU; A personal ‘case study’ and analogy”

Stop Using The Word Normal

Stop using the word normal. Start using the word average. When you look at a Gaussian distribution, otherwise known as a normal distribution,  it runs from negative infinity to positive infinity. In other words, for any characteristic, with a large number of people(this is an important statistical caveat), you’d expect that most people would aggregate aroundContinue reading “Stop Using The Word Normal”

Identity

So why is it important to know one’s identity? Identity and purpose are linked and I’d like to think that purpose helps in the transformational aspect that leads to the definition of one’s identity. For instance, if you are thrift shopper, chances are whenever you need a new gadget, you consider specific things like its durability, multi-functional purpose, aesthetic features, etc. With those specifics, you know exactly what you want once you see it.
